This season, the Tata Tiago is something to watch out for. There is no denying that the Zest and Bolt were unique designs, but the new creation Tiago raises this tradition a few notches higher. In fact, in the compact car segment, this car is bound to create a great impression in the minds of its customers. This is primarily because it offers car users with high quality Tata spare parts & features along with a competitive price tag.
A fresh look
This hatchback is pretty much different from Indica, though both of them belong to the compact car segment. The front has a wide mesh grille and headlamps that have been swept back. While the rear spoiler and body colored bumpers are standard, the horizontal tail lamps on the rear are a fresh addition. The top variant of the Tiago has alloy wheels, rear wash & wipe function, and wing mirrors with turn indicators. The orange and espresso shades offer a premium look to the car.
The Tata Tiago offers spacious and good quality interiors. The XZ variant comes equipped with the ConnectNext Infotainment System and has four speakers and tweeters. Buyers of the XE trim variants get height and headrest adjustable seats. Dual front air bags are also available, but minus the ABS. All the variants get folding rear seat, driver footrest, wing mirrors that can be adjusted internally, and tinted glasses. The top model, however, gets two airbags, ABS, and EBD.
Using a Revotron three cylinder engine, the car delivers 84bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. The diesel mill gives 140Nm of torque and 70bhp power. Both the engines support the Eco and City driving modes. The five speed manual gearbox powers the front wheels. In future, this may be replaced by an AMT gearbox.
The Tiago has very decorative interiors and offers a good ride to its occupants. Its rivals include the likes of Chevrolet Beat and the Maruti Celerio.
