Steps to Replace Power Brake Booster

  1. First, you need to raise your car enough so that you can slip under it. Use a jack to raise your car and place jack stands once your car is high enough that you easily work under it.
  2. In order to access the brake booster, you need to reach into the cavity of the car and locate the master cylinder.
  3. The cavity of the car and the master cylinder is located on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
  4. With the help of a tube nut wrench, turn the nut holding the brake line in place anticlockwise to remove it. Take note of the place from where who have removed the brake lines. Mark those places with a marker or a pen.
  5. Repeat the same with the other brake line, until the master cylinder is completely free of all the brake lines.
  6. Using the line wrench remove the master cylinder from the vehicle
  7. Once the master cylinder is removed from the car, now it is time to remove the brake booster from the brake pedal.
  8. Using the needle nose pliers take off the pin that is holding the brake booster in place.
  9. You can also take the assistance of socket wrench to remove the bolts that secure the brake booster to the engine and pull it out of the car cavity.
  10. Once the brake booster is removed, first inspect it to make sure that this is the part that has caused the problem in the first place and you are removing the damaged part.
  11. Once inspected, replace the faulty brake booster with the new one and screw into place with the help of a nut wrench.
  12. Now taking the socket wrench secure the brake booster to the engine with the bolts you have removed previously.
  13. Replace the pin in the diaphragm of the booster that holds it to the brake pedal.
  14. Now, it is time to inspect the master cylinder, making sure that the cylinder is in good condition with no signs of damage and put it back into its original place.
  15. If there is any damage to the master cylinder then you need to replace it as well.
  16. Just reserve the steps you have carried out to remove it from the engine. Reattach the master cylinder to its housing by tightening the bolts that secure the cylinder in place using the socket wrench.
  17. Reconnect the brake lines one by one to the cylinder; clearly following the marks you have placed to remember the spots using the tube nut wrench.
  18. Once everything is back into place, test the brake to make sure each component has been placed correctly. Once you are 100% sure that the brake booster is correctly placed in the car, remove the jack stands and lower the car to the ground.

Under this system a proportionate amount of lubricating oil, 2 to 3%, and the fuel, preferably gasoline is mixed. The mixture of the oil and the fuel is generated through the carburetor. Gradually, gasoline gets vaporized while the oil in the form of a mist enters the cylinder via the crank base.When then mist gets in the crank base, it greases the main and the numerous connecting rods along with the piston, piston rings, and cylinder.

Dry Sump Lubrication System: This is also a most common form of the lubrication system. Under this form, a holding tank positioned in the airframe or mounted on the engine stores the lubricating oil. This type of system stores a large supply of lubricating oil and also contains an oil cooler to control the temperature of the oil. The dry sump lubrication system is actually used for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Wet-Sump Lubrication System: Wet-sump lubrication system helps in the lubrication of engine components under the pressure feed. The lubricating oil under this system is stored in a crankcase or sump which also serves as an oil supply, oil storage tank, and oil cooler. The oil pump, under this system, is operated by the camshaft. Oil is drawn from the sump by an oil pump through an oil strainer to the main oil gallery at a pressure of 2-4 kg/cm 2 to lubricate the big-end bearings.
